How It's Made

• The yak and cow milk is boiled for
an hour, after which the hot milk is
poured into a hand-cranked centrifuge
(to remove all of the fat)
• The remaining fat-free milk is used to
create the Everest Dog Chew and the
filtered out fat is boiled to create a local
butter known as “ghee”. This ghee
is sold as a separate product locally.
• When the milk has cooled down, salt
and lime juice is added to coagulate
the mixture
• The milk solids are separated and
washed to remove remnant whey
• The milk solids are compressed and
then cut to various sizes
